Not only do you want to look good on your wedding day (and of course all days) you also want to feel good! From head to toe you want to brim with health and happiness.
Having chosen your hair and make-up artist, your dress, shoes, lingerie, perfume and jewellery, it's now time to look after the rest of YOU.
You are confident in your artists experience and there is no question about looking good on the day. So that leaves some time for you to enjoy the relaxing part of your wedding plans.
By looking at how you want to feel on your wedding day you can create this mood by doing some simple wonderful things for you, and of course your fiancé may want to take part as well!
Of course with all of the following make sure you do an allergy test first…
Facial Scrub & Mask
Make your own out of ingredients you have in your pantry and fridge.
Scrub - Use 1 tsp powdered milk or 2 tbsps milk, and mix with raw organic oats. Apply to face and gently scrub all over face and neck. Rinse off.
Avocado and honey Mask - Use ½ an avocado and a tsp of honey - mix. Apply to face and leave to dry.
Spray with a rose or floral water - known for skin softening and healing properties. Remember keeping skin fresh and supple with create a great base for your make-up artist.
Foot Soak
Whilst you're relaxing with your face mask why not soak your feet in a foot bath, using warm water with a splash of your favourite aromatherapy blend or bath crystals. Soak for as long as you like (keep filling up with warm water for longer soaks). Once you take your feet out moisturise and slip on some socks to keep them soft and supple.
Hair Treatments
Either visit your hairdresser/stylist, purchase one from the supermarket or make your own. Mix together 2 tbsps of cold pressed virgin olive oil, an egg and 4 tsps honey. Jump into a nice warm shower, wet your hair and apply mixture ensuring that you don't place too much directly on the scalp. Leave on for 30 minutes. Burn some essential oils.
Relaxing - Geranium, Lavender, Chamomile Roman
Refreshing - Lemon, Petitgrain
Calming - Petitgrain, Neroli
These oils above can also be mixed with almond oil to create massage blends.
Rescue Remedy
If you're feeling a little on edge this product (purchased from your local health store) is a great nerve calmer. All natural bach flowers bring ease once placing a few drops under the tongue.
Fresh Juice
Treat yourself to a refreshing juice made with watermelon, apple, rockmelon and mint.
Relaxation Techniques
Take a relaxing walk.
Write down your thoughts, fears, wishes for your wedding day in a journal. Releasing your thoughts usually puts you in better perspective.
The best thing about doing all or any of these techniques is that it can be done all in the luxury and comfort of your own home. Make a day of it and feel reinvigorated to get back to the rest of any wedding plans.
